At the start of the competition, this volleyball game was given the name Mintonette. This first came about on February 9, 1895, in Holyoke, Massachusetts (America Serikat), at the YMCA, under the direction of William G. Morgan, a Director of Psychological Education.[3] Morgan, who is also a Springfield College of YMCA instructor, created this game eight years after James Naismith first introduced basketball as a sport. This particular game of minonette is actually a type of game that is played by combining several game types, such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, and handball.In [4] At the outset, this game is designed specifically for YMCA members who have already lost interest in playing, therefore it's not as engaging as traditional basketball games.
In 1896, a demonstration under the name "Minette" gave rise to volleyball.
